We are seeking a Panel Builder & IP Configuration Technician for our Kalamazoo, MI office.

Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Security Panel Builder and IP Configuration Technician to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have experience in building and configuring security panels and systems, including the installation, wiring, and IP configuration of security devices such as cameras, alarms, and access control systems. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality security solutions to our clients. This role will require travel between Grand Rapids, Lansing, and Kalamazoo. Mileage will be paid except for home office.
Who you Are:
- Proven experience as a Security Panel Builder, IP Configuration Technician, or similar role in the security industry.
- High attention to detail.
- Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams, schematics, and wiring plans.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
What You Are Accountable For:
Security Panel Building:
- Assemble, wire, and configure security panels according to technical specifications and client requirements.
- Install and connect components such as circuit boards, relays, power supplies, and communication modules.
- Test and troubleshoot panels to ensure proper functionality and adherence to quality standards.
- Ensure all wiring and connections meet safety standards and regulations.
IP Configuration:
- Configure IP addresses, network settings, and communication protocols for security devices such as cameras, alarms, and access control systems.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Prepare technical documentation, IP configurations, accurate records of panel build relative to labeling of devices.
- Upload final panel pictures to Project Management Software
- Report on project progress and any issues encountered to project managers and supervisors.

Who You Are:
- 2 years or more of servicing CCTV and access control system experience
- Valid Driver’s license
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to climb ladders and work in small spaces
- Proficient with power tools and electronics
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- NICET certification a plus
What You Are Accountable For:
- Service access control systems, CCTV, fire alarm systems and other systems in residential and commercial properties
- Read blueprints and electrical drawings to determine which locations equipment will be installed in
- Keep up to date on the latest CCTV, access control systems and fire alarm systems through product research and training
- Educate and demo systems to customers
- Accurately report materials used and hours worked on each job
- Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment malfunctions and errors
- Install equipment in accordance with building codes
- Gather and review all project documentation
- Daily communication with customer
- Mobile task completion

What You Bring:
- Cloud Technologies: Familiarity with cloud platforms, particularly Azure.
- SQL Expertise: Proficient in writing SQL queries.

What You Are Accountable For:
- System Integration: Facilitate communication between cameras and access control systems and the Security Systems Software.
- Programming & Configuration: Program and configure access control and CCTV systems, including both hardware and software components.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve issues with systems, including network connectivity, programming errors, and hardware failures.
- Client Solutions: Collaborate with clients to understand their business requirements and develop tailored solutions.
- Technology Trends: Stay up to date with industry advancements and emerging technologies.
- Technical Support: Provide ongoing technical support to both clients and internal teams, including training on system usage and best practices.
- Documentation: Develop and maintain detailed documentation for all systems and solutions, including programming code and hardware configurations.
- Database Management: Analyze and extract information from databases to update other systems. Collaborate with the Development Team to create tools for transferring data between systems.
